Book Review: Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Fairies

 

Okay, okay I'll be honest... this is a reread. But. For good reason. I read this book about a year ago and it was amazing, stunning, 6/5 stars. So naturally when I knew that the second book was coming out I immediately pre-ordered it and read this one in preparation. And again I will say, beautiful. loved it, can't get enough, have already started the second book. 

I have NO idea how someone even writes a good this well. It is meant to be read and it reads like smooth buttercream. It's a fantasy that feels real. I was immediately transported into a whimsical world of snow and fairies. Feeling the snow underfoot and breathing in the crisp air and I've never even seen snow. The whole time I felt like I was there with Emily and she was sending me these journal entries for my own personal enjoyment. 

Also, can we talk about the slow burn romance in this. I don't even think she gives us crumbs. But somehow I am falling for it and rooting for our love interests with every ounce of my soul. UGH I LOVE THIS BOOK.
